December 21, 2014 - Studying and Testimony of Christ

I just wanted to share something about my studies this week.

Leviticus 8 describes a lot about what we wear and do in the temple!!  It was really cool making these connections!!

If you ever have a talk that you liked you should send it to me so I can print it out and read it.  I really enjoyed this week what is called the King Follett sermon.  It was given by Joseph Smith about 2 months before he was martyred.  https://www.lds.org/ensign/1971/04/the-king-follett-sermon?lang=eng
I really like the second part of the sermon that they have in the May Ensign 1971 that talks about the resurrection of children.  It talks about some cool doctrines there!!

But I think the best thing I studied about was the Atonement this week.  I read a talk by Elder Christofferson "The Atonement and Resurrection" and Elder Bednar's "In the Strength of the Lord" (which was my favorite!!!!)  It talks not just about the redeeming power of the atonement, but the fact that there exists another side:  the enabling power of the Atonement and how we can use this power daily in our lives.  It was super good.

I have been talking a lot with President Cabral and it has been cool because hes been teaching me about Spiritual Experiences we need to have.  He talks a lot about the ability to know Christ.  To see Him.  And I keep thinking, "can I imagine having a spiritual experience so big that I can see, meet, and know Jesus The Christ."  President talks a lot about having this experience and well this has become my goal.  That when I come back home and I'm standing on the pulpit bearing my testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ, I can say "I know that Christ lives, I know that my Redeemer Lives"  that there is no  hesitation in my voice that I will have the privilege to know our Savior.  That my faith still isn't a little seed.  That I'm not riding with what I don't see and believe, but what I believe already and what I saw with my own eyes.  The scripture in Matthew comes to mind Matthew 16:25 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it"
That when we truly forget ourselves we shall find what life is!  We shall find what eternal life is....and this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3
So basically we need to know him and have this spiritual experience for us to gain eternal life which is exaltation.

I just thought that I should share some of my thoughts and the things I was studying.

Love you Mom and Dad!!!
