August 4, 2014 - Teaching Seminary, Family Home Evening and Elder's Quorum

I haven't had to pay a dime yet to get packages out of customs - it's called the luck of a Thurgood because it's just me that hasn't payed in the mission.

I'm doing well this past week. We didn't get to work in our area until Thursday because we were in Santos until Tuesday night and Wednesday we were doing interviews with President in the areas of our zone.  It was a little rough, but we had a really amazing day yesterday in church.   I gave an elder's quorum lesson on the spot and it literally was one of the best lessons I've given.  We are going to be teaching seminary from now on here.  Yep, you got released, but I got called.

Winstanley and I gave this super cool lesson for a family night last night.  We talked about how the natural man is an enemy to God (Mosiah 3:19). Then we grabbed the basketball that we have in the house and  used it really creatively in our lesson.  We said when a basketball is in its natural state we can't balance it on our finger. When we leave the natural man in us and don't do anything, we can let the ball spit, but eventually it falls.  When we read our scriptures you get to help the ball spin faster and longer. Say a prayer - one more hit, going to church another and another and so on so forth. It was super cool.  In that lesson, we taught 10 people.  It was super sweet. We were a little disappointed about the week, but yesterday, really made up for everything that had happened.  We also had 2 investigators come to church.  It was a really good day.

This is the last week of this transfer; it's passed by really fast with Winstanley.    You need to listen to Bless My Son by the Nashville Tribute Band. Y
ou will like it.

Love Chase
